I can understand why some people blindly apply to any position in hope of finding any job that will pay the bills. Unfortunately, with this approach, they’re only wasting their time and effort. Looking for work is not a numbers game, more is not better; it’s about being strategic.

 The Rule???:  All that glitters is not necessarily gold, so do your homework on any prospective employer! By visiting the company’s web and social media sites you can research the company’s vision, products and recent events. This may help you to decide if it would be a good fit for you. If you do apply and get an interview, mentioning some interesting findings from your research will help to create a good impression.
